Abeeskiss is a home-run small business, but its roots go much further than that. I, the owner of Abeeskiss became interested in all the “creepy crawlies” when I was young. I grew up on a farm in Colorado where I spent a lot of time finding bugs wherever and whenever I could. That was just the beginning. In 4th grade I got my first pet tarantula followed by a few more. In 2018 I started my very own bug collection that I am still growing very slowly. My bug adventures only continued from there. My family later moved to Texas in 2019 which meant a whole new world of insects. Then as my sophomore year approached in 2021 I was taking mostly advanced classes so there would be little time to be spent searching for bugs, so I got an idea. I would open a shop that allowed me to share my passion with others while still having time to study. I got support from friends and family that I continue to encourage to see the beauty in insects. This leads us to today where I am now the loudest and proudest member of the Fight’en Aggie class Of 2027! I’m pursuing a degree in entomology which I hope to use to start a butterfly pavilion in College Station and open my own research lab to continue on my mission to share the beauty of insects with my community and many more.
